MT Commissioners Sign Statement Rejecting Premature Reopening Plan

MT Commissioners Sam Mecum, Tom O'Brien, Barry Kauffman, and Allison Troy signed this joint statement on Wednesday, May 13 condemning the announcement of local Republican officials that they would ignore the PA Department of Health guidelines and reopen Lancaster County on May 15 ahead of schedule.

The joint statement declares "This unprecedented moment in our county’s history calls for unity over political division. We thank the people who have put their bodies on the line to continue to nourish, care, and protect all Lancaster County residents.”

But “as challenging as this situation is,” we cannot “give up on so many of our neighbors, friends, and family” by going rogue from PA's statewide plan.
